Why This Recipe May Help Long, cold- or warm-steeped nervine infusions are a classic Western herbalist approach for drawing out the mineral- and compound-rich constituents of nourishing nervine herbs, traditionally used to support a calmer, more resilient nervous system over time.

Active Compounds

  • Skullcap (Scutellaria lateriflora): Contains flavonoids such as baicalin, traditionally associated with a calming, tension-easing effect.
  • Oat Straw (Avena sativa): Rich in minerals and traditionally used as a nourishing tonic for a tired or overstimulated nervous system.

Precautions Avoid skullcap if pregnant or nursing. Individuals with oat or gluten sensitivity should confirm their oat straw is certified gluten-free, as cross-contamination can occur.
