  • 3 cups filtered water
  • 1 cinnamon stick (optional)
  • 1 tsp honey (optional)

Preparation

  1. Add the reishi slices and water to a small saucepan.
  2. Add the cinnamon stick if using.
  3. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium-low heat.
  4. Reduce heat and let simmer uncovered for 30–40 minutes, until the liquid reduces slightly and darkens.
  5. Strain through a fine mesh strainer into a mug, stir in honey if desired, and drink warm.

Dosage & Usage 1/2 to 1 cup in the evening, up to once daily. Because reishi is a woody fungus, it responds best to a true decoction (simmer) rather than a quick steep.

Why This Recipe May Help Reishi has centuries of traditional use in Chinese herbalism as a calming tonic mushroom, historically associated with supporting steadiness of mind and a settled spirit during periods of overwork or worry.
