Hops (Humulus lupulus)

Hops (Humulus lupulus) are the dried female flower cones of a vigorous climbing plant long valued in both brewing and traditional Western herbalism. Beyond their familiar role in beer making, hops have a deep herbal history as a plant associated with relaxation, settling, and nervous system comfort.

In Western herbal practice, hops have traditionally been used in formulas intended to ease mental tension, restlessness, and difficulty unwinding at the end of the day. Their pronounced bitterness and aromatic compounds were historically associated with grounding excess mental activity and encouraging a smoother transition into rest, particularly during times of stress or overstimulation.

Hops are rarely used alone due to their intensity. Instead, they are commonly blended with other nervine herbs such as chamomile, passionflower, skullcap, or lavender to soften their bitterness and create a more balanced preparation. They are also used in sachets and aromatic applications, where their distinctive scent contributes to a sense of calm.

This product contains whole, dried hops cones, carefully dried and stored to preserve aroma, color, and traditional quality. Suitable for herbal teas, tinctures, sachets, and custom blends focused on relaxation and evening support.
