Why This Recipe May Help Chrysanthemum flower has a long history in Chinese herbal tradition for helping settle a restless, foggy-feeling head, while goji berries are traditionally used as a mild nourishing tonic — together they’re often reached for during scattered, screen-fatigued stress.
Active Compounds
- Chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum morifolium): Contains flavonoids and chlorogenic acid, traditionally associated with a cooling, clarifying effect on the head and eyes.
- Goji Berry (Lycium barbarum): Contains carotenoids, traditionally used as a gentle nourishing tonic ingredient.
Precautions Avoid if allergic to plants in the Asteraceae/daisy family (ragweed, marigold). Goji berries may interact with blood-thinning or blood pressure medication — use caution if on these.
